CONVERGENCE - '09

11th Annual Convention of NOSPLAN, Convergence - ‘09 presents you the focal point in space and time where people, cultures, ideas, experiences and perspectives come together to push us forward in the direction of positive change. We present you the convergence of more than 500 brightest minds of the country in the field of planning, connected by one mantra, "Planning for a better future..." ( Event Brochure )

Panel Discussion
Planning exercise is a part of the four day convention in which a live project or planning problem is given to the participating delegates by an organisation or institute. The delegates prepare the proposals or strategies for the given problem which would be presented to the jury panel. The best proposal is selected by the jury panel after thorough scrutiny and discussions.

Debate
Two teams are created from the pool of delegates one for and one against any current issue, idea, concept or approach in planning. The individual participants are allowed to present their arguments one by one in front of a jury panel and audience. After a discussion in the house the jury announces its final verdict and the best speaker in the debate.

Paper Presentation
Any planning related research topic is to be nominated as paper presentation topic by a planning organisation, which would be announced to the participating institutes at least a months prior to the convention. The participants research the topic to write a paper on it and present the paper in front of the jury and the audience. The best paper will be published in the forthcoming NOSPLAN Magazine.
